Remote loses power

2. When the added cables on the remote side along with the batteries are put in its proper place, the remote controller loses power and I cannot change channel. But when the batteries are taken out, the remote regains power. I am using the exact same remote used in the video. Why does this happen?

1. Well, we know the added cables on the remote side are connected to the (-) terminals of the battery slot, now are these cables later connected to the (+) or (-) of each mic plate? The video does not explain this.
