This is BS! Why would I vote for something on YouTube that is BS! For this to work, the string would have to be attached directly to farthest point on the lid. In addition, the tank lid will prevent the string from moving. Not to speak of the fact that the toilet seat weight would pull the float up, cutting off the flow of water and the tank would remain dry. If you can’t think of some real hacks, then at least be honest and say so!

the concept is logical….. but the string is not properly secured and the float would have to be weghted and u would have to use lubed fish ing line to get around the cover but other than that, it would still work
